Getting started
Is BroBattle free to play?
Yes. BroBattle is free to play in your browser. Any future purchases will be cosmetics or expansions, never pay-to-win, and access to finding Bros or safety features will never be sold.
Do I need to download or install anything?
No. Open brobattle.com/play in a modern browser and you're playing! If you like, add BroBattle to your home screen so it launches full screen like an app.
Do I need an account to play?
Yes, a free one. Playing BroBattle requires a free account so your progress, squad and bros are saved and so block, report and moderation tools work for everyone. It takes about 30 seconds and there's no guest play. Create your free account.
Can I play BroBattle solo?
Yes! Solo against bots is a complete game with missions, bosses and extraction, and you can add up to three AI squadmates at any time. Multiplayer is never required. See all game modes.
Does "bro" mean BroBattle is only for men?
No. In BroBattle a bro is a trusted teammate, male or female, from any background: someone who's got your back.
Is BroBattle finished?
BroBattle is in active development. You can play now, and systems such as Duo Rifts, Crews and Bro Sync are rolling out in stages. The game improves constantly, and because it runs in the browser you always get the latest version!
Devices and performance
Which browsers and devices does BroBattle support?
Current versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari on Windows, macOS, Linux and ChromeOS, plus modern phones and tablets with touch controls. BroBattle uses WebGPU where available and falls back to WebGL automatically.
My computer is older. Will it run?
Probably. BroBattle has performance quality tiers that scale lighting, effects and resolution. If the frame rate drops, lower the quality setting in the game menu.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes! Use landscape mode for the best experience. On iPhone and Android you can add it to your home screen for a full-screen, app-like launch.
What's in the game
Can I play BroBattle in VR?
Yes, in beta. On a WebXR headset (Meta Quest, Pico, Apple Vision Pro or SteamVR) open brobattle.com/play in the headset's browser and press ENTER VR. You get full controller support, snap or smooth turning and an optional comfort vignette. No store download needed!
Are there vehicles and animals?
Yes. Open Battlescapes have dirt bikes, quads and side-by-sides, plus combat trucks, tanks and APCs, and K9 partners (a German shepherd, a pit bull or a rottweiler) who take down raiders, sniff out mines and stay by your side. Horses are riding into the game too!
What are Bro Bibles, prayer and the Guardian Angel?
BroBattle has optional faith features. Pick up a Bro Bible for a verse and a boost, hold the pray key to fill your Faith, and a Guardian Angel can shield your squad. When darkness falls, bullets can't stop the spirits that come with it: prayer and the angelic host, led by Michael, drive them back. It's never gory, you can pick a gentler darkness setting, and you can switch all faith effects off in Settings.
Can I spare an enemy who surrenders?
Yes. Raiders who give up can be cuffed and escorted instead of shot, and you earn honor for reviving, carrying and patching up your bros. Showing mercy is always your choice, and the game notices when you do!
Playing together
How many players can play together?
Co-op supports two to six players with drop-in sessions. Duo Rifts are designed for exactly two players, and Bot Squad lets you play with up to three AI teammates.
What's Bro Sync?
Bro Sync is an after-battle indicator that highlights teammates you coordinated unusually well with. It uses only in-game signals such as objective overlap, rescues, positioning, role balance, callout responsiveness and choosing to battle together again. It never uses outside data or infers sensitive traits.
What are Duo Rifts?
Duo Rifts are missions built for exactly two consenting players with asymmetric roles, for example one player sees the route while the other sees the threats. They require an explicit invitation and acceptance.
What are crews?
Crews are persistent groups with a Crew HQ, shared history, trophies and opt-in rivalries. Membership is invite-only and you can leave at any time.
Is voice chat required?
No. Every mode can be played with pings, markers and quick callouts. Muting works instantly.
Safety and privacy
Does BroBattle arrange real-world meetups?
No private meetups, ever. BroBattle has no location sharing and no stranger-initiated one-to-one meetups. If group events are ever offered, they'll be group-only, in public venues, with moderation and age policies. Read our safety approach.
What data does BroBattle collect?
A callsign you choose, your scores, gameplay telemetry for Bro Sync computed from in-game actions only, and a hashed IP address for anti-abuse. There are no advertising trackers. See the privacy policy.
