Why BroBattle exists

Some of the strongest friendships start with a shared experience: a team that won the unwinnable game, a crew that stayed up too late finishing a raid, two strangers who covered for each other and kept playing together for years. We think games are one of the best places left to meet people, but most online games throw that away. The lobby dissolves after every game, and social apps try to replace the shared experience with profiles and swiping.

BroBattle takes the opposite approach. The game comes first. It has to be spectacular and fun on its own, even if you never talk to another person. Then, when you do play with others, the game quietly notices who you work well with and makes it easy to keep playing together. Friendship is earned through shared action!

Our pillars

1. Action first

   You should be moving, shooting and facing danger within seconds. No launcher, no install, no twenty-minute tutorial!

2. Great alone

   Solo against bots is a complete game, not a waiting room! Bot squads give you a team whenever you want one.

3. Connection through action

   No swiping. Shared objectives create the introduction, and Bro Sync highlights the teammates you coordinate with best.

4. Spectacle with consequence

   Battlescapes bend gravity, weather and the rules of each mission. World events and Nemesis bots carry consequences into future sessions.

5. Safe social escalation

   Teammate, repeat teammate, friend or crew, and only then optional public group events. We never pressure anyone toward offline contact. Read our safety approach.

The world of BroBattle

Our world is being torn open by impossible battle zones called Battlescapes. Grounded, tactile places such as downtown avenues, highway overpasses and industrial yards collide with dimensional phenomena: inverted debris, light bending around rifts, rain falling upward, slabs of rock suspended in the air. Hostile machine factions and rift-mutated creatures pour through! Players go in alone or together, complete dynamic objectives, face escalating bosses like the towering Rift Guardian, and extract with their rewards.

Technology

BroBattle is written in TypeScript on Babylon.js, a high-performance open-source 3D engine for the web. It uses WebGPU for cinematic lighting where browsers support it, with an automatic WebGL fallback and quality tiers so it runs across desktop and mobile. Multiplayer runs on Cloudflare's global edge network using Durable Objects and WebSockets, which keeps latency low without anyone needing to install anything. The whole game is a progressive web app, so you can add it to your home screen and launch it full screen!

How we make money (and how we won't)

BroBattle is free to play. In the future we plan to offer cosmetics and expansions. We won't sell power, so there's no pay-to-win, and we'll never charge for access to finding Bros or to safety features. There are no advertising trackers on the site or in the game.
